I ordered this tape to mark a small stepdown in the garage.it is pitch black when the lights are off and this tape glows in the dark as advertised. Most other tapes reflect light. If there is no light one would need this tape that glows . The tape recharges when you do put light on it.Haven't used it yet but already see it is going to be great. I will be using it for Catfishing or whatever may hit but 99% are cats, anyway when it gets dark, they usually are more active which had me watching the rods and can't see, others use bells, fine whatever, i used normal tape and bought some glow spray paint, first i thought spray paint on the tips would work, no so then i went with tape with the glow paint it did a little atleast i could see, but this i can already see with flash light or sunlight to charge it glows instantly not like in the pic but seeing from atleast 20ft away is great, maybe it could be bright like in the pic if charged for more then 5 seconds, i just wanted to see if it did glow. Also fisherman you must have this vs stuff i tried doesn't work, glow sticks work but last only what 6 hrs or something, a buck a pack and last a night of fishing and thrown away i have them too, never used em, this will be used. Will never be thrown away until it falls off and won't stick anymore. wrap a small piece below the eye of rod which i am thinking and see and feel the glow.I had to use this tape for an event I was running for my church, (glow in the dark ring toss). It worked really well for what I needed. I was making the game and I put all of the supplies into a plastic bag when I was done. I turned the lights off and completely forgot about them, when I came back in the next day, they were glowing through the plastic bag.Pros:It glowed!!It lasted a long time (only needs to be put up to a light for about a minute and will glow for about 8 hours)I didn't have problems with it not sticking onIt was a fairly decent priceCons:It wasn't as bright as it's shown in the picture (but that's usually expected)The length of the tape isn't that long, at least I thought so (But I should have read the dimensions a bit better)Overall:It's a good product for the price.This tape is great regarding its reflection maintaining its glow in the dark over a long time. It is so effective I have to be careful how i store it or it will be glowing while I try to sleep. It has been tried on a short list of surfaces and the behavior of the adhesive varies.On a hard surface like my bike and bike helmet is seems to work well but can separate easily. Tried on a synthetic fabric like my backpack the adhesion is lousy and seoerartes easily if the surface is bent or folded. Overall i like it as a low tech reflector biking at night. I will try adding additional adhesives to make it work more reliably in various situations.I love the tape i got two rolls and put it on my bike and now my bike glows in the DARK at night :) . Plus its really durable, i bike everyday and the beating my bike/ tape took because of the weather snow, rain, extreme heat it holds up really well. Only thing i find kind of ehh about buying it is that it looks like there a lot more then there actually is and for the price 2 rolls for about 20 (includes shipping plus tax) . Could be a bit lower or have more tape with it for that amount but other then that the tape works really well and i like it a lot.I got this tape to line some (DIY) steps for my 13-year-old dog, so she could see to walk up and down the steps, and still get into the bed (she's too old to jump up anymore, and she had fallen off of the steps a few times) - this stuff works like magic. It charges in a reasonably short timeframe and glows brighter than any glow thing I've seen/bought to date, and it lasts throughout the night, so at 3am when she gets down to go out and pee - she can see where the steps are and does not fall off. This tape is really super awesome and as soon as I have another excuse to buy more - I plan to. (I just need another reason w/o taping up my whole house just for the fun of it). :PWorks sort of as intended.The glow was both much brighter than I expected when exposed directly to, say, a flashlight.Yet at the same time doesn't last all the way through the night. (was using this to mark my touch lamp since I was always missing it fumbling around in the dark and got tired of knocking my clock off the nightstand.)Overall worth it, the product picture is not representative from exposure to open standard room lighting, that is most likely even exposure to a close bright flashlight.As I'm getting older with worsening eyesight, my brick steps were blending into each other. Now that I put a few pieces of tape at the edge of the steps I can walk comfortably and safely up and down the steps when the lights are turned off because of the nice glow from the tape. Cleaned the steps with alcohol & rounded the edges of the pieces of tape before applying.
